The area where Tropical Villas is located is over 1000 ft. above sea level. Temperatures rise so that a short drive up towards Volcan or Boquete requires you to bring a jacket, as it is quite cool. The elevation goes to 3,475 m - the dormant volcano called Volcan Baru. This region has many small farms producing much of the countries supply of carrots, lettuce, beans, potatoes, celery etc. Also fruits such as black berries, strawberries, raspberries etc. Cattle farming is important here as well. The coasts of course provide a huge variety of seafood.
